Navigation Header Can Change Everything

Navigation Header Can Change Everything

Imagine you are on a website.

The content is pleasing to the eye and each page seems simple enough to navigate through. Then before you know it, you come to a page where you get caught up in scrolling down- down into an abyss of media; photos perhaps or a vast array of linked images. All of a sudden you are lost without your navigation bar to bring you back to reality. You spend countless moments in a panicked scroll and your hand starts to cramp. And yet, all of this could be solved with one simple solution- the “fixed” header and navigation bar.

What this beautiful solution does is provide users with a no-panic experience so they can explore and get lost in a site without really getting, well, lost. There have been many studies about what goes on in an average web user experience on a site, and the study results show that even if someone does stumble upon your site, it isn’t for long. Jakob Nielsen says it perfectly stating, “If the Web page survives this first — extremely harsh — 10-second judgment, users will look around a bit. However, they’re still highly likely to leave during the subsequent 20 seconds of their visit. Only after people have stayed on a page for about 30 seconds does the curve become relatively flat. People continue to leave every second, but at a much slower rate than during the first 30 seconds”, in his article titled, How Long Do Users Stay on Web Pages?

It’s our job to ensure that our customer has a friendly and stress-free navigational experience here at Wolfe Interactive, and we believe that our new header menu will ensure just that. So feel free to scroll down to your heart’s content- because no matter how far you go, we will always be there to bring you back.
